Canada ISED Ends RSS-216 Issue 2 Transition Period

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) in Canada announced that the transition window for RSS-216, Issue 2 closed on September 3, 2025. This means that from September 4, 2025, all certification requests must meet the updated requirements under RSS-216, Issue 3. 

Manufacturers, importers, and distributors must ensure that all wireless power transfer equipment sold, leased, or distributed in Canada complies with the new standard. Devices previously approved under Issue 2 may remain in use, but new approvals will only be issued if they meet the Issue 3 criteria.
