India’s Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) has introduced updated MTCTE certification criteria for telecom equipment with specialized testing requirements. Devices like routers, DWDM systems, and satellite communication equipment are now eligible for provisional certification based on international test reports or manufacturer declarations. This move aims to streamline approvals while ensuring regulatory compliance. The new rules took effect on 2 June 2025, signaling a more flexible path for high-tech telecom gear in the Indian market.
